Jonathan F. Lane, DVM

Veterinarian/Owner/President

Dr. Jonathan Lane was born and raised in Chelsea, right next door to his father’s and grandfather’s veterinary offices. Growing up, his entire family worked at the practice. While working at the practice and accompanying his father to many farm calls, he decided to pursue a doctorate in veterinary medicine. Dr. Lane graduated from Chelsea High School, class of 1987. He attended Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio, for his undergraduate degree (1991). He was accepted to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, St. Kitts. He completed his pre-clinical studies in the West Indies and then moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to finish his clinical training at Oklahoma State University. He received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University at a ceremony in New York City at the United Nations in January of 1995. He joined the practice as a full-time veterinarian immediately upon graduation from school. Dr. Lane enjoys working with the dedicated doctors and staff at Lane Animal Hospital. He is committed to continuing his father’s and grandfather’s legacy and seeing Lane Animal Hospital into its next century of service. He is an active member of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and The American Veterinary Medical Association. He holds additional certification from the Educational Committee of Foreign Veterinary Graduates. He is passionate about continuing education and participation in veterinary educational forums.

When not at the hospital, Dr. Lane enjoys spending time with his family and enjoying all that Chelsea has to offer – especially golfing, float boating, and watching sports! He is pleased to be a Chelsea High School Scholarship Committee member, St. Mary Knights of Columbus, and serves as a board member for the Chelsea Field Hockey Club.
